National Sport Panorama - 2012

National Sport Panorama 2012 was held for second year on 20, 21 and 22 of April. The organizers gathered 75 national sports federations in Sofia in front of the National Palace of Culture

Together with the Bulgarian sports federations and clubs was held and seventh "Festival of Bulgarian education", where were presented over than 100 schools - state, municipal and private. The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Physical Education and Sports - Mr. Svilen Neykov and supported by Municipality of Sofia - Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova. With the opening of "National Sports Assembly 2012",  Mr. Svilen Neykov launched national campaign - "I love sports." The event this year was supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Culture.

In these 3 days, the park around NDK was filled with sports, cultural, health and educational centers. The motto of the event was "Look, try, choose". Visitors have the chance to see a wide range of sporting organizations, which successes to get their attention in a unique way and make them not only audience but participants.The wonderful idea of ​​the organizers to promote sport through sport attracted many visitors last year when for the first time in front of the NDK had a lot of attractions and excited children.

This year the excitement wasn’t surprising, because was proved again that the interests of the children grow up every day and they want to know and learn more.

On 20 April, Friday, exactly at 10 am, the largest sporting event starts with two rays  which were gathered in front of the NDK, where in 11 o’clock was held the official opening of the assembly with a lavish ceremony in which  participated  official guests, media and many visitors.

From the entrance of South Park started a marathon named "98 days to the Summer Olympic Games - London 2012" which was led by Ms. Ekaterina Dafovska, Ms. Vania Peneva(Miss Bulgaria 2011), Vicktorya Terziiska (Mastilo Group), all organizers, famous public figures, parliamentarians, representatives of all federations and more than 300 children. Everyone was  involved in the cross, the pace and enthusiasm of the participants grew with every meter and escalated to the final.

The second part was the "Parade of Flags" – it starts at the same time from the Museum "Earth and People" and went through the Love Bridge, so that can combine with the marathon . The Parade of Flags was attended by representatives of all schools, brass bands and cheerleaders from Sofia.

Participants and visitors this year were over 30 000 people. Despite of the variable weather conditions, crowds of children don’t decrease. For most of the participants was difficult to satisfy the interest of young visitors. Around some tents children almost in hysterical waitted for their training and assessment efforts. Gifts and awards, provided by the organizers, were undoubtedly an additional motivation for the activity of most attendees.  

Everyone could touch the magic of sports and arts for free. This year also during the exhibition were many surprises. Beside proofesional golf instructors, cyclists, football on small doors, volleyball, tennis, mountain climbing, yoga, gymnastics, rugby, American football,  had also boxing, basketball, biathlon, cart races, judo, taekwondo and many others sports . It is difficult to forget the unique performances of the strongest men, fighting police clubs, graceful gymnasts, one of the bests acrobats , rafting in the fountains, etc.

An event is really great and helpful when a lot of  people take part in it and bring benefit and good mood. Ministry of Health and Sopharma Company provide free examinations for blood pressure, AIDS, smoking and others. Three-day festival ended on Sunday night with many good mood, emotions and without any incidents.

Media Interest was not a surprise. Almost all national television channels such as BNT, BTV, Nova TV, TV7, Eurocom, TV1, BTA, Box TV, Sport 1,,, JCDecaux and Darik Radio, Radio Romance and many others involved to promot the event. But the greatest success were undoubtedly thousands of smiles on the faces of children and persisting commotion in the center of the city throughout the weekend. Many federations before the end of the Assembly expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the attention and conditions for the conduct of the event. We are all convinced of the usefulness of this event and hope next year's National Sports Assembly to be even bigger and more well organized, to inspire more sponsors and more governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
